“Really lovely vintage stuff, rescued and revived”

Home Front Vintage was born out of my obsession with 

rummaging around in junk shops finding vintage 

treasures to rescue and revive. 

I particularly enjoy rescuing items that are no longer

 wanted and turning them into something new.

 My ethos is that if we can 'make do and mend' 

(or recycle as it is now known) 

and stop things going in to landfill we can

 continue to fill our homes with beautiful things 

whilst doing our bit for the planet and our pocket. 

I have recently acquired a rather lovely stack of vintage mangle cloths.   

They are made of beautifully hard wearing linen and I am in the 

process of making them into aprons, bunting 

and cushion covers in time for the Kitsch and Stitch Fair.  

I also rescued some fabulous original

 silk ‘escape and evasion maps’ from the 

1940s, 1950s and Cold War period.  

Pilots and Special Forces would keep these maps

 inside their uniforms in case they

 were shot down over enemy territory.

I have turned them into lovely cushion covers 

(as modelled by my darling dog, Ellie, below!),

 bunting and notebook covers

My bestseller over Christmas was some amazing 

strings of fairy lights made with oyster shells.  

The light looks really pretty reflecting in 

the pearlescent shells.  

I think they would be equally pretty out in the

 garden this summer, so Mr Austerity will be busy

 making some more for me to bring to the Fair!

"I love the patterns, colours and textures of vintage fabrics

which led from just collecting them to making and

creating my own bags and accessories.

I also use them to cover notebooks and sketchbooks.

As many people who love vintage will tell you it quickly

becomes an obsession and to compliment my handmade items

I now sell a whole range of vintage homewares, jewellery and textiles.

I exhibit at fairs in Kent and around the south east – the Kitsch and Stitch Fair

is the perfect place to show my handmade and vintage wares.

a simple scarf pattern designed by me.

Ideal for novice knitters, as a scarf is a great item to learn 

and practise how to knit; everyone wears one, 

it allows the novice to get their tension 

correct and you can choose

 any yarn as long as it is consistent.

I have always adored country print fabrics.  

Just admiring the neatly stacked piles of materials 

on the shelves in  my workroom gives

me the greatest pleasure.  

Thanks to Cath Kidston, Vanessa Arbuthnott and Tilda,  

I always have plenty of beautiful pieces 

to inspire me and each item is created as

a ‘one off’ with heaps of love and attention to detail. 

You will often find me at vintage fairs and markets 

rummaging around for interesting old

buttons and trimmings  - It’s a hard life,

but hopefully my work will help

to spread a little love within your own little nest!

I do sometimes get the urge to clear out and start afresh. 

 Passing on much loved family members is what I enjoy doing.

"Appliqued Apparel... started when a friend asked me to repair her much loved Levis.  

With a little artistic license I added my own take on the running repairs!
Since then commissions have featured hugely in my craft work.  

100% denim frays beautifully, giving my 'steamy seams' attitude; which I love.  

Demure is NOT what I do!!! "

Judy and Stephen Newman of All Things Vintage and Beautiful.

It all started with Judy’s love of buying vintage things for the home from the various antique and vintage fairs she loved to visit. 

Now, almost 3 years later, together with her husband Stephen, her passion is now sourcing and selling the vintage goodies she loves.

Judy and Stephen sell a wide variety of pretty vintage items, including homeware, china, pictures, soft furnishings, fabrics, books, toys and more.

Maygreen Fairies – Altered Art by Amanda Howard

Amanda is a self taught Mixed Media & Altered Artist who enjoys creating beautiful art from vintage photos, materials and findings.  She lives in the Sussex Countryside with her husband and young twin boys.

Her creations include unique Greetings Cards, Beautiful Luxury Gift Tags, Whimsical Bookmarks and Cute Fairy Magnets.  She also designs magical Jewellery pieces, using vintage images and fantasy storybook characters.  Her home décor items are very unusual and include Vintage Inspired Cushions, Decorative Collages using old images, vintage findings, lace and buttons, as well as Altered Books that make intriguing displays and Upcycled Picture Frames covered in vintage ruler and tape measure prints.  You can adopt a Fairy from Amanda either in a Fairy Jar or Cage, these make wonderful gifts for any fairy lovers out there.  Amanda also offers a bespoke service where she can “Bottle” a loved one as a Fairy or Mermaid in the form of a collage image or Greetings Card and her Events Design Service helps create Wedding and Party Décor for those special occasions.

DRAGONFLY ART……….ORIGINAL ARTWORK BY GILLY CRANWELL.

Kent based artist, Gilly, handcrafts each piece of artwork using a mixture of surf tumbled beach pottery, sea washed glass and shells. 

Incorporating  jewels, beads, charms and swarovski crystals to make 

each piece unique and individual.
